ABOUT US

«Friends! We can make this world a better place only by starting with ourselves. Selfless support activities directed at others will take you very far in life, but the biggest result is in the person’s heart, as it grows and becomes kinder».

Our work on developing humanitarian assistance began in 2014, with the support of the MTI fund dealing with Holocaust victims among other things. First, we handed out a small number of food sets. Only eleven items: sugar, flour, rice, pasta, tuna, couscous, sunflower oil, tea, halva, buckwheat and oatmeal. Having personally met people who survived genocide, violence and bullying, hunger and cold, who miraculously escaped death, we were truly overwhelmed with their countless stories. A burning desire to do more for them conquered us and we started using personal finances to be able to reach new people. For many of them, the main need is not to remain lonely, forgotten, and unnecessary; they want to communicate, talk out, draw the final line of their life and pass on the main rationale to future generations. This activity completely captured us and eventually we began to receive additional financing for this project. To date, we cover about 200 Holocaust victims in two cities, Afula and Migdal HaEmek, every month. Now we aim at Nof HaGalil and Beit She’an…

During the project, through the connection with the leader of the Chernobyl liquidators we learned that they were left behind both in Ukraine and Israel… Those who selflessly and fearlessly did all sorts of work dealing with radiation in and around Chernobyl were left with nothing, their rewards are countless infirmities, tumors and cancerous diseases… Therefore, another direction of our help was born and, unfortunately, it works only in Afula so far. These projects, assistance to the Holocaust victims and the Chernobyl liquidators are especially precious to us, as time works against us and the representatives of these communities leave for eternity every day… We still wonder if we have done enough…

The second wing of our activity involves new immigrants and their integration in Israel. We know first-hand what are the problems and difficulties faced by the families of new returnees. Indeed, moving to another country of a completely different mentality may be a shock to many people. In the first instance, you literally have to learn everything, as if you were a small kid who needs full protection and support. Open a bank account, find job, register with a clinic, rent an apartment, buy household, appliances or furniture: this is hardly a complete list of issues people contact us with. In order to somehow facilitate the initial stay in the country, we’ve opened a humanitarian warehouse where everyone can have clothes and bedding. Communicating with people, we face various situations and try to be the answer for them. Thus, we have new projects covering new needs. Our dream is to open a multifunctional Assistance and Development Center for residents in and out Afula.
